Walking in Faith--What I'm reading this month

Do you ever just feel like everyone seems to have that thing that you’re missing. You know, a spark? Here’s the truth: you do too. It may just be a bit lost under things called self doubt and shame. Honestly the spark that I️ find in myself doesn’t come from anything I️ say or do. It comes from God. I’ve  never felt like I️ had a purpose or a calling. But when I’m praising him or serving. .  it’s like everything inside me screaming “what do you have to offer?”is silenced. When I’m just sitting in my car talking to god about my frustrations, my pain, my joy.. I️ find my peace. Honestly, that spark inside is him. It’s FAITH. Faith in the impossible. Faith to move mountains. But that spark of faith is a battle every single day. Most people may seem like they have it all together, like they’re world is some sort of Muholland Drive miracle.. but it’s not. Even the most successful people are miserable. Sometimes we may come off  like we’ve  got it all figured out— but guess what? I️ don’t. You don’t. Nobody does. But guess what again? I️ know someone who does. What I’ve found searching for this purpose is that, it’s not about finding mine, it’s about pursuing God’s. I️t means trusting him, pressing into him, learning more about him. It’s not easy. I’ve been a Christian for the majority of my life and yet I️ still fall prey to the lies of this 21st century world. These little squares that are supposed to illustrate our happy lives can be daunting. We’re supposed to be succeeding, laughing, living our best lives so to say. But don’t be fooled, behind every gorgeous shot is someone who needs jesus just as desperately as you. BUT, at the end of the day one thing remains true: you are a child of god! With that title comes the acceptance of the fact that you don’t have to do this alone. You don’t have to search, because  you’ve already been found. That means we stop trying to find what everyone else has. We stop pursuing an ideal that may not even be real. I give him my hopes and my dreams and say: use me. Guess what, the minute you let go and let god, the spark ignites. And the world will notice. But they won’t be noticing just you, they’ll be noticing the one who walks beside you. The one who created you, and still loves you.. flaws + all. That peace will radiate. And little by little, their spark will ignite too. .

If you’re reading this, I’ve been reading this incredible book by Lysa Terkeurst. It’s called What Happens when Women Walk in Faith.
It has helped me reach undeniable peace in giving God my dreams and trusting in him. I hope it helps you too.
