I think a lot of times in life, we're often expecting this big movie moment to happen. Whether it be in our relationships or friendships.. we always have this idea that the jump out of your seat, tear jerking moments are going to be thrust upon us. Its no wonder with this day in age narrative of perfect love stories that we find ourselves wrapped up in what could be. You know the moments. The ones we often find ourselves daydreaming about, When Patrick Swayze refuses to let a n y o n e put you in a corner. When Heath ledger breaks out the school band and serenades you into giving him a chance. Okay maybe not that crazy (let's be honest, only heath could pull that off). But you get my point. The moments where the guy is at odds with the girl or vice verse and the other puts everything on the line in that moment. They say everything you've always imagined they'd say to win your heart back again. Poof. Conflict resolved. The moment where the relative you lost contact with suddenly has a change of heart, calls you and wants to figure everything out. Your best friend finally apologizes and admits to how much they hurt you when they chose something temporary over history. These movie moments are what we all in this social media age crave. We overthink, we analyze, we criticize, until we convince ourselves that that phone is gonna ring, or that door is going to burst open and they're going to be there. But how often do these moments really happen? Do they even happen? That’s a tough question, but I believe that they really do. In fact the greatest movie moment of all time happened thousands of years ago when Jesus died on the cross for us. I mean talk about a climax in the story! And friends, his love story for us is the greatest ever told. Nothing will ever compare. I honestly think that’s why our hearts are searching so desperately for more. It feels that there is something greater. The greatest sacrifice that could ever be made was made for US. That sets the bar pretty high doesn’t it? And it should! We should never settle for less than his best. Ladies, and gentleman, these movie moments DO happen. Maybe not everyday, but they do happen sometimes. With the right person at the right time, for the right reasons. Don’t force it. Don’t search for it. Trying to mold something into something it’s not will only break you more. Trust me I know.. I know it’s hard. But let jesus write your love story. Give him the chance to take your dreams, take your vision, and lead you down the right path that will eventually have a fork in the road leading that one to you. I know in my bones that when that happens I’ll know it’s right. I won’t have to guess, I won’t have to overthink if what he feels is true. I’ll know. Because he was led by something greater. Someone greater. And that’s worth waiting for.
Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
