A whole new world

                                                                                            Hi there friends!

Bracelets : Lillian&Co
So the past few months have been a whirlwind!! So let me start at the beginning. In august I made the decision to apply for the Disney College Program in Walt Disney World. I KNOW, crazy. It was always in the back of my head to try it, but I never really knew if it was something I wanted. Let me tell you guys, if something is constantly in your mind, it's probably because that something is something that you're pretty passionate about. So don't take too long to think about, take the chance, do it. The main reasons I chose to do Walt Disney World are: A) It's in Florida, IE: I get to travel and immerse myself in a new place and lets be honest that's what I'm all about ;) and B) Florida offers the program in Entertainment. Entertainment was always my goal from the beginning of my journey with Disney. In every audition, I'd make it to the end but was never offered a role due to scheduling,  basically there not being a need for that role, or it simply just didn't work out. I honestly believe that all those closed doors however, let me to this open one. After I graduated from CSULB in may (YAY) I was constantly applying for all these big girl jobs. No luck. But one day I saw the applications for the Disney College Program Spring Advantage had dropped. I stared at them and stared at them until my mom said, "just apply." So I did. Now these programs are pretty dang hard to get into. It's an amazing resume enhancer, an extremely good opportunity to learn more about the business and future internships, and basically a way to get your foot in the door. So I was honestly expecting another no. BUT I opened my email the week of my birthday (what a great birthday present) and boom! There it was. "Congratulations, Miranda!" I couldn't believe it!  After a week of praying on it and discussing it with friends and family, I accepted. And that friends...is how I got here: In a 3 bedroom apartment in Orlando, Florida, sitting on a very squeaky but quaint bed typing away this story for you fine people. :)

Vista Way

Honestly, after a four hour flight, 24 hours of no sleep, and 4 panic attacks later, I've never been happier. Yes it's going to be hard at first, managing a new place, a new transportation system, new friends, etc. But you WILL get there. I'm at peace. Not because I have it all figured out, but because I answered the call from someone who does. God knew this is where I needed to be all along and there is such a peace in knowing that. I'm so excited to begin this journey and share with you guys the triumphs, the mishaps, and most importantly the adventures! <3 I've worked at Disneyland for 3 years and have only known that park my whole life, so I'm excited to compare and contrast them for you guys to give you a better idea of each.

So far this is what I've learned:

Roomies: Kat & Elizabeth
Florida is BEAUTIFUL. Every time I step outside of California I'm amazed at the beauty this country holds. I'm also ashamed that I haven't seen more of it. BUT it's on my list. The weather has been great! 80 every day, not too much humidity yet, but oh we'll get there! But so far, I can definitely see why it's called the Sunshine State.
Like always, it is very difficult to move your whole life to a new state. I almost lost it a few times trying to carry my luggage to my apartment, carrying groceries (spoiler alert: my bags ripped and my groceries went everywhere, yup that was my first day) lol! I can laugh now, my comforter and pillows were delayed in shipment, etc. TRUST ME, not everything goes to plan. But I just want to encourage you guys that everyone goes through this. Bumps will happen, you will feel homesick, you will feel lost some days, but you will get through it. Keep the faith.

Roommates: What a blessing. I have the best roommates. They've been so welcoming and loving to this California girl. There of course has been issues with our other roommates, which guess what, you can't avoid. And I'm sure we will ALL have fights and misunderstandings but that's the way it goes. Communication is KEY. You're not always going to get along with everyone you meet, but you definitely have to work towards middle ground.

DISNEY SPRINGS: OKAY California people: our Downtown Disney has NOTHING on Disney Springs. Its absolutely HUGE. And completely stunning. Its right on the water which makes sunset views amazing. They have Ghirardelli (priorities) World of Disney, The Co-op, (AMAZING), Rainforest Café (ON THE WATER), and many, many, other restaurants and shops. You can find a complete list here. There's so much so I'll have to do a post later on my favorite spots there once I see all of it.
